Purpose

The Small Dairy Project (SDP), a tax-exempt organization under Internal Revenue Code 501(c)(3), evaluates and disseminates knowledge which supports sound management of small commercial dairy farms. The SDP defines a "small" commercial dairy farm as one which consists of a herd of not more than 50 dairy goats or the equivalent in fluid milk from lactating cows. The Project provides professional farmers who chose to operate at this scale access to knowledge and resources associated with more capital intensive enterprises.
